Der Wandbehang ist ein handgemachtes Einzelstück. Das Sternmotiv und der Stoffrahmen entstanden durch die Inspiration des Lakota Morningstars aus Nordamerika und dem tibetischen Thangka.
Handgefertigtes Einzelstück
Das Sternmotiv enthält Farben wie Blau, Blau-Grün/Türkis, Rot, Gelb, Weiß und Schwarz. Dafür wurden einzelne kleine Rauten aus eingefärbten Leinwandstoff und Pappe hergestellt. Diese wurden nach den Näharbeiten auf der Mitte der Leinwand des Wandbehangs geklebt und ergeben als Vollbild den Morningstar
Für den Stoffrahmen habe ich Stoffe aus natürlicher Herstellung von Leinen und Baumwolle ausgesucht
Dieser Stoffrahmen besteht aus einem Leinenstoff mit einem feinen Fischgrätmuster von blauen (bzw. petrol) und leicht glänzenden goldenen Gewebefäden. Durch die Zweifarbigkeit enthält der Rahmen eine edle changierende Farbwirkung
Ein rot-oranger Leinenstoff rahmt als erste Stofflage das Innenbild mit dem Stern. Dieser Stoff bedeckt auch die Rückseite des Wandbehangs
Zur Stabilisierung des Wandbehangs dienen zwei integrierte Rund- und Vierkanthölzer, die oben und unten zwischen den Stofflagen eingebunden sind. Ein im oberen Bereich befestigtes rotes Band aus Baumwolle dient als Wandaufhängung

Wie ein Morningstar entsteht
Hier möchte ich kurz erläutern, wie die blau-grünen Rauten für den Stern entstehen: Ich habe eine Leinwand mehrmals mit blauer und grüner Farbe eingefärbt, anschließend ausgewaschen, gebürstet und getrocknet. Auf der Rückseite der Leinwand habe ich eine Unterlage aus Pappkarton mit aufgezeichneten Rautenmuster befestigt. Nach der Klebung und Trocknung schneide ich die Rauten aus. Die einzelnen Rauten werden auf der Leinwand appliziert und befestigt. So entsteht Stück für Stück der Morningstar, mit fein abwechseln blau- grüne Farbtönen, nahe türkisgrün. Hier im Video „For Alexis“ ist diese Technik gut zu sehen.

Handcrafted unique piece
The star motif contains colors such as blue, blue-green/turquoise, red, yellow, white and black. For this purpose, individual small diamonds were made from colored canvas cardboard. After the sewing work, these were glued to the middle of the canvas of the wall hanging and form the Morningstar as a full picture
Materials made from natural linen and cotton were selected for the fabric frame
This fabric frame is made of linen fabric with a fine herringbone pattern of blue (or petrol) and slightly shiny gold fabric threads. Thanks to the two-tone design, the frame has an elegant, iridescent color effect A red – orange linen fabric is the first layer of fabric to the frame the interior image of the star. This fabric also covers the back of the wall hanging
To stabilize the wall hanging, two integrated round and square pieces of wood are used, which are intergrated between the layers of fabric in the upper and lower areas. A red cotton ribbon attached to the upper area serves as a wall hanging

How a morningstar is created
Short explanation of the creation of the blue-green diamonds for the star : A canvas was dyed several times with blue and blue-green paint, then washed, brushed and dried. A cardboard base with a drawn diamond pattern was attached to the back of the canvas. The Morningstar created as a full image with finely alternating blue-green tones, close to a turquoise-green color scheme
